George Wilson is a long time cycling enthusiast. He is the owner/operator of Mt. Hood Bicycle, offering services to performance riders, recreational riders and family. After course completion at the United Bicycle Institute in Portland, Oregon, he obtained certifications as an advanced bicycle mechanic and suspension technician.
Retiring as a Certified Orthopedic Physician Assistant specializing in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, his years of medical and cycling experience have provided him an ability to properly fit riders to their bicycles. Focusing on “potential” and “real” problem areas, making necessary adjustments specific to each rider, and utilizing proper parts and sizing specifications, cyclists are able to enjoy a much more pleasurable and maintenance free riding experience.
Understanding the importance of bicycle safety, George is a proactive member of his community working as a Director for the Villages at Mt. Hood Board of Directors. He sits on the Public Advisory Committee for the Clackamas County Active Transportation Plan, working specifically on developing and improving better bicycle and pedestrian access within Clackamas County.
He is also the organizer of the Mt. Hood Bicycle-Pedestrian Coalition, working to provide a better environment for cyclists of all disciplines within the Villages of Mt. Hood, by developing a “Villages of Mt. Hood Bicycle-Pedestrian Master Plan” and embracing the cycling tourism concept.
